The objective of the paper is to analyze the results of XVII World Congress of Sociology (Gothenburg, Sweden) in July 2010. The necessity to reconstruct the key-sociological paradigm with its western-centric modality is claimed. Parallels with the situation in modern economic theory are emphasized.
