The article dwells upon the socioeconomic nature of property. Its characteristic basis is defined as a form of economic implementation, and the main organisational department is a company. The author comes to the conclusion that the methods of economic activity (plan-based or market-based) are determined by the form of ownership. State property is regarded as the initial basis for the plan-based methods of economic activity; the author also shows the patterns of interaction between state property and planand market-oriented methods of regulation
