2012 New Developments in Supply Chain Security Strategy

Supply chain security witnessed two new developments in the opening weeks of 2012. On January 25, 2012, the Obama Administration released a new “National Strategy for Global Supply Chain Security.” That same month, the World Economic Forum released a report titled “New Models for Addressing Supply Chain and Transport Risk.” The common theme in the two documents is the continuing need to enhance the resiliency of global supply chains. Both documents emphasize the need for government-industry cooperation. The WEF report also highlights the value of scenario planning as a tool to address supply chain and transport risk
