A grounding framework for developing adaptive software products
This paper is an analysis of the issues, problems and concerns facing practitioners in the fields of softwareand system development. The main task that faces practitioners in these fields is to choose an appropriatesoftware development approach that enables the development of adaptive and romantic software products. The paper starts by discussing the role played by organizational culture, context, practice and concepts usedin organizations in software development. The perceptions of software practitioners on the problems found insoftware development are then highlighted.Using Grounded Theory Method, a framework of the requirements for the development of adaptive softwareproducts is drawn up. This framework highlights the importance of employing a software developmentapproach that is grounded in the relativistic paradigm, adopting a behavioral systems approach and adoptingmethods whose communication techniques and tools can capture the humanist elements that are inherent inorganizational systems.
