A Look at the Focus Shift in Innovation Literature Due to Covid-19 Pandemic

Innovation research has been an increasing trend and showed a rapid interest for scholars in recent years. How innovation literature develops in business and economics and what characteristics they present before and after COVID-19 pandemic are problems is explored here. To address these topics, we collected 17,277 pre-epidemic publications and 4,240 post-epidemic publications from Web of Science to make a comprehensive bibliometric analysis. Relying on bibliometric methods and visualization tools, we present the changes of these publications due to COVID-19 pandemic, dentify the influential countries/regions, sources, references, and obtain features of keywords over time. The results show that innovation research is rich in content, involving a wide range, and focuses on some emerging topics after COVID-19 pandemic, such as low-carbon, innovation forms, and epidemic environment. This study contributes to the body of knowledge on innovation, and helps in understanding the features and structures of innovation research in business and economics
