Advanced Digital Communications Technologies : An analysis of policy and regulatory framework of the EU and India

The study reviews the telecom policy and regulatory framework in India and its state of play, and seeks to extract the main issues that are inhibiting early adoption of advanced digital communication technologies. The study further analyses the EU best practices, experiences and evolving policy, and the regulatory landscape that has helped the EU adopt advanced digital communications technologies in the past and are propelling early adoption of 5G in European nations. The recommendations from the study undertaken could therefore be used by the NITI Aayog to promote regulatory best practices to support achieving India’s vision of Digital India and to contribute in the evolving national Digital Communications/ICT policies
