An Analysis of The Landmarks of The Theory Of Definition According To Sibawayh and The Function of Language From Expression To Definition

This study sees that the Aristotelian method of defining things is limited and is limited to what can be understood and separated. Therefore there are many, and very many things that cannot be subject to the definition of Aristotelian logic, the first of which is the Holy Essence (God), His Majesty, whose majesty man has not ceased from His greatest need is to know him and to believe in him. Things follow after that whose gender and segregation are difficult to know. What makes a person so poor is that he lacks another way of defining things, whether they exist or not, a way that the public and the private understand. This is manifested in Sibawayh’s method of defining things, for it is a method that does not exclude an existing being from the existents unless it provides a definition for it by its adjective or by its verb or by both
