An Assessment of Relative Performance of Organizations Using Its HR Value : A Case Study
The present paper considers the value of organizational HR as the performance of its technology base in relation to cost of its HR in line with definition of value as performance divided by cost. Such a HR value measure has been used to rank top fifteen organizations in the production sector in India. The revised ranking based on organizational HR value, Mahindra and Mahindra Limited moves up to the top of the table from its earlier fourteenth position based on average net sales, whereas Indian Oil Corporation Limited which was earlier at the top goes to the bottom of the list. The method of ranking based on such a HR value has been found to be significantly correlated with ranking based on traditional financial performance measures
