Analysis of National Economic Proportions According to Data of the Interbranch Balance
In recent years a number of works devoted to the study of economic proportions and to the analysis of the structure of the Soviet economy have been published in our economic literature. Study of these problems is very important in connection with raising the scientific level of planning and with elaborating a rational branch structure in the national economy. Deep study of these questions calls for a vast and carefully elaborated body of economic data enabling one to arrive at a comprehensive description of the process of socialist reproduction and to establish a quantitative yardstick for economic proportions and for the branch structure of the national economy. In this connection, great scientific and practical importance is attached to the elaboration of ex post interbranch balances of production and distribution in the national economy of the USSR, which will enable one to obtain a detailed, concrete description of the social reproduction process at the branch level.
