Analytical Review of Bangladesh’s Macroeconomic Performance in FY2012-13 (First Reading)

The present interim review of macroeconomic performance of Bangladesh focuses on the developments during the first few months of FY2012-13, and reviews the movements of major macroeconomic indicators in view of the targets set for the fiscal by various policy documents. The paper also contains two thematic issues of interest in the present context of Bangladesh economy – a brief review of the implementation status of the Sixth Five Year Plan with focus on macroeconomic framework and a selected set of sectoral issues; and a review of the manufacturing sector performance of Bangladesh.
