Analyzing growth cycles and leading indicators in Pacific Basin countries

Techniques developed in modern industrialized economies that can project and track business cycles with leading,conincident, and lagging indications are utilized in Australia, Malaysia and South Korea and analyzed in connection with the established work on growth cycles in postwar Japan and a similar effort made by economists in New Zealand. Fluctuations in exports and imports of the Pacific Basin countries are explained to test the relation with domestic instability. (Economische Voorlichtingsdienst)
