Application of Firefly Algorithm in Prediction of Time Series Data

Several statistical and soft-computing methods have been applied to predict the time series data in different fields. In this paper, an algorithm, based on firefly algorithm, has been proposed to predict the time series data. The performance of the proposed algorithm has been measured by Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). It has been observed that the performance of the proposed algorithm is better compared to the other applied methods on the same dataset. Finally, the algorithm has been tested on several time series data predicted by the other methods in different published journals
