Automobile air-conditioning using a rotary absorption/recompression system
This paper describes a novel system for automobile air-conditioning. The system is based on the integration of a rotary absorption chiller with a vapour-recompression unit. The absorption chiller employs process intensification, which exploits radial flow driven by centrifugal force. The rotary absorption/recompression system is driven by a car engine and uses the combined heat of recompression of the refrigerant and exhaust from the engine. The rotary absorption/recompression system using the pair, has been analysed thermodynamically.
