Behavior patterns of logistic models with a delay
In this paper, the behavior patterns of a logistic model with a delay in the feedback path are analyzed. It is shown that these patterns are richer than the ones without delay and include a new behavior, the retarded catastrophe, which is apparently counterintuitive. The mechanisms underlying that behavior are elucidated with the tools supplied by the bifurcation theory. The relevance of these results for system dynamics are emphasized.
