The object of this article is to determine the consequences of modifying the weight applied for the calculation of the CAC 40 index. This modification comprises taking into account the number of titles participating effectively or potentially in transactions. The aim is to find out if or not there is a relationship between the results obtained and the commonly used market value of the shares
