Challenges of Thai L2 Students Learning Business Courses : Implications to Content-Based Teaching Pedagogy

The business industry is growing and business courses are thriving everywhere. As a result, competitive pressures rise developing a system of complexity which requires more than just an understanding of various business concepts and principles. The purpose of this study is to identify the challenges faced by Thai L2 learners learning business courses. The study employed an exploratory research design using triangulation and coding scheme. Specifically, triangulation was done through survey and semi-structured interviews. The survey includes open ended questions while a one-on-one the interview was conducted among randomly selected participants in the study. The findings of the study suggest L2 students are confronted with various challenges in learning business courses. The challenges are focused on the medium of instruction, the learning environment, the subject, the students themselves, and the teachers
