Chapter 2. The publishing process: A case study

This chapter presents a case study of a paper’s journey from preparation through multiple revisions and finally acceptance for publication. Using a first-person dialogue between the paper’s author and the action editor for the paper, the chapter shows that many iterations are often needed before a paper is accepted for journal publication. The chapter concludes with some general reflections on the publishing process. The abstract of the initial submission and the abstract of the published paper are presented in an Appendix.
