Chapter 3. Errors in strategic reasoning

Copious laboratory and some field evidence suggests that people err in predicting others' behavior, learning from others' actions, and best responding to their beliefs. Some of these errors appear to be systematic. In recent years, economists have proposed solution concepts that modify standard game-theoretic solution concepts to incorporate systematic errors. This chapter reviews the evidence on errors and solution concepts that embed these errors.
