Combined Sewer Overflow Abatement: The East River Project
The methodology used by New York City to abate pollution from Combined Sewer Overflows in the receiving harbor waters is presented in a case study for the East River facility planning. The approach integrates water quality studies, facility planning, environmental assessment and public participation. The project suggests construction of three underground storage tanks. Results from the recent water quality survey are summarized and discussed. Copyright Kluwer Academic Publishers 1999
