Competitiveness of Artificial Intelligence's Technology-Adoption (Caita) in the Healthcare Sector in China : An Expert Analysis

This research gathered insights from high-profile specialists within Biotechnology and Medical Sciences who (kindly) agreed to bestow their sapience to this project. Two seminal frameworks (i.e. OT and VRIO analysis) were instrumentalized to the molding, henceforth, of the empirical procedure towards a concrete understanding of the current status of adoption of AI and its competitive implications.A one-to-one single round of enquiry was conducted along the 1st quarter of 2022 to garner insights and content analysis used to extrapolate their meaningfulness. The results revealed, that the early stage of adoption of AI holds a compartmentalized and polarized view per stakeholder-group and calls out for the hasty establishment of public and corporate policies. The fashioning of a model considerate of regional and organizational differences is key to overcome: (i) a triad of limitations (i.e. business-process; legal-regulatory and technological); (ii) obstacles to industry-collaboration; and, (iii) the practitioner’s concerns and bias. Noteworthy, is the accentuation of capabilities-gaps across hospitals with dissimilar size and typology and the spillovers from medical practice to others areas of hospital administration
