Coordinating the Behavior of Different Agents in Distribution Networks – A Review

This paper provides a detailed overview of the current state of scientific literature on the coordination of different agents in smart distribution systems. The coordination of agents can be market-driven or network-related. As an important market-driven measure, approaches that allow to reflect time-variable retail tariffs are investigated. Trading flexibility at smart markets is considered to be a central approach for network-related coordination in the future. As market-driven and network-related coordination of agents can be contradictory, also literature that considers both is discussed. Finally, a conceptual framework for the analysis of alternative market regimes in distribution networks is developed on basis of the reviewed literature
