The elaboration of the Comprehensive Program of Economic Integration of COMECON Countries has had immense methodological and practical importance for the consistent extension of the socialist principles of planned economic management to the sphere of their mutual collaboration. The basic tenet of the Comprehensive Program was the recognition of the decisive role of planning instruments in its implementation, which objectively stems from the very nature of the socialist economy and of the economic relations between socialist countries.
