Do Privacy Issues Matter in Citizen Participation? An Experiment in the Context of Smart City Apps

With an experimental design the impacts of information about privacy dangers and of the personal information that has to be shared are tested for a participation application for mobile devices. Our results confirm the privacy paradox for the context of citizen participation, meaning that people have overall high concerns about privacy in digital transactions, but that this is not observable in their concrete decisions
