Economic and Environmental Aspects of Integration in Chemical Production Sites
Integrated chemical production sites consist of several plants linked via materials, logistics, energy, and infrastructure. A methodology is developed to quantify economic and environmental aspects of integration and applied to actual cases from industry. Integration potential, the suitability of a plant to be integrated, is proposed based on key process characteristics. This approach may aid in the planning of locations and capacities for chemicals production in consideration of process type.
