Economic problems of the least developed and land-locked OIC countries 1998 : under the shadow of global financial crises

The report surveys the problems of the global economy (financial crisis in Asia and Russia, unemployment in many Western nations) and their implications on the development efforts of the LDCs, especially the OIC-LDCs (21 countries, representing 44 percent of the total number of LDCs, 18 of them in Subsaharan Africa, plus Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Yemen). Their financial difficulties, above all the debt crisis, are expected to get even worse in the wake of the global crises. (DÜI-Cls)
