Effect of TQM Practices on Operational Performance and Operational Efficiency in Manufacturing Sector
Total Quality Management is the ever emerging technique in Operations Management to ensure and manage the quality. This study is conducted to find out the awareness of total quality management among the employees and management. The study is conducted in the manufacturing sector of Nagpur City. A comprehensive questionnaire in the form of Google Form was prepared. It’s a descriptive and causal research study. Data was collected from a sample of 60 respondents at various designations in organization across manufacturing sector in Nagpur City. Top most TQM effectiveness factors concluded from analysing the data so collected are Reduction in defects, increase in productivity, reduction in amount of rework and increase in production. There is need for management to set clear, measurable and achievable objectives so that they will set the right direction for the firm. In addition to this, organization needs to effectively allocate adequate required resources and capabilities so as to achieve those objectives and subsequently improve operational efficiency and profitability
