Efficient MPEG MVC Encoder for Multi-Core Architecture

As the new generation of multi-core architecture had arrived, efficient multimedia algorithm implementation is needed for dynamic development, implementation and adoption of standardized video coding solutions with flexible and reusable features. The Modifiable Video Coding (MVC) provides a supporting structure. The multi-core and parallel architecture are better used by the dataflow language MVC-CAL. An iterationbased implementation model is used in the proposed design flow methodology rather than the traditional sequential model. Each iteration ending up with a functional “version” of the algorithm analysis, design, development, simulation, testing and adaptation are performed.
