A „Versenyben a világgal” kutatás során többek között az emberi erőforrás menedzsment és a vezetési stílus jelentőségét, szerepét vizsgáltuk a magyar vállalatok teljesítménye szempontjából − a mintában szereplő vállalatvezetők véleményére alapozva. A releváns nemzetközi szakirodalom, és a gyakorlati szakemberek is elismerik az emberi erőforrás fontosságát, valamint azt, hogy a hatékony emberi erőforrás menedzselés a versenyképesség új forrása. Az emberi erőforrás menedzsment a vizsgált vállalatok körében azonban nem tartozik a kulcsfontosságú vállalati funkciók közé: az össz-vállalati működés szempontjából a vállalatvezetők megítélése szerint átlagosan a közepesnél erősebb az EEM tényleges súlya. Vizsgálataink eredményei azt bizonyítják, hogy a felsővezetők elsősorban attitűdökre alapozott, homályos elképzelésekkel rendelkeznek a HR területről és annak szervezeti szerepéről, megerősítve a Vezetéstudományi Intézet 2004-2005-ös Humán Tükör kutatásának eredményeit. Megfigyelhető továbbá, hogy a legelégedettebbek a HR-el a multinacionális szervezetek felsővezetői, ahol általában már külföldön kialakított, kész HR rendszerek adaptálásáról van szó, feltételezhetően több az erőforrás, kevesebb alkalmazottra jut egy HR-es. A vizsgálati eredmények alapján a „piacvezetők” a kutatásban részt vett vállalatok átlagához képest nagyobb arányban alkalmaznak formalizált teljesítmény-értékelést, teljesítmény alapú javadalmazást, formális EEM tervezési rendszert, nyújtanak programot az újonnan belépők számára, és működtetnek vezetőképző rendszert, mint az átlagosan teljesítők és a lemaradók. ; The goal of the research „ In Global Competition” was to evaluate the importance of human resource management and leadership styles in the performance of the Hungarian companies – based on the opinion of the company managers in the sample. Both the relevant international literature and the practicing experts acknowledge the importance of human resources, and the fact that the effective human resource management is a new source of competitiveness. Unfortunately human resource management is not the key function in the companies of our study: HRM’s real weight is a bit stronger than mediocre regarding the whole company’s functioning - according to the managers. The results of our study proove that the executives have only dim ideas - based on attitudes - about the HR and its role in the organization. This checks up with the results of the “Human Mirror” Research Project of the Institute of Management in 2004-05. The study found that the executives of the multinational companies are the most satisfied with the HR, where usually already developed HR-systems are adapted from foreign countries. This may mean that there are more resources, and the “No. of employees / HR-partner” rate is lower. The results of our research show that higher ratio of the market leaders use formalized performance evaluation, pay-per-performance approach, formalized HRM planning system, offer programs for the new employees and have a leadership development system than of the average performers or of the companies that drop behind.
