Environmental Efficiency of the Fossil Fuels to Electricity Transition in Eastern Siberia Cities

Coal or firewood is still primary heating and domestic cooking energy source in many regions. That seriously threatens millions of people's health and reduces achieving the SDG. About 2.4 million people are suffering and negatively affected by low-pipe stoves emissions in Eastern Siberia. Through modelling, spatial, and quantitative assessments benefits of replacing coal with electricity in private households were carried out. Electricity transition of half of the households reduces benzopyrene hazardous area by 79 - 99 %, PM10 up to 100 %. The results prompt regional authorities to take more decisive actions to remove coal from the private household energy
