Estimated soil erosion map for un-vegetated surfaces in Europe

The potential erosion map represents the spatial distribution of the worst case scenario of the probable impact of water erosion leading to extreme soil loss in Europe, when the land is devoid of vegetation cover under present land use condition. This map delivers an overview on the areas that are highly sensitive to land use change. Thereby, this map remains a tool to identify and assess the response factors leading to land use changes.
