Ethnic youth: their assets and aspirations

This presented project-paper aims at: a) obtaining an overview of the situation, expectations and concerns of ethnic youth and young adults concerning socioeconomic and ethnic background, family, relationship, educational and employment aspirations and experiences, etc.; b) measuring the impact of schooling, welfare and employment on the life chances of ethnic youth; c) selecting priority areas of government action to make government measures to assist ethnic youth more effective. - Australian 'ethnic youth' here refers to young persons in the age range of 14 to 25, who were either born in an overseas non-English speaking country or have at least one parent born in an overseas non-English speaking country.
