European student card : technical specifications

This document is part of a set of guidance and specification materials that have been developed to support card issuers in the implementation of the ESC. More information on the guidance materials can be found in Annex I: Other documents of interest. To support technical administrators in joining the ESC, the present document aims to provide the technical specifications of the ESC. - The first section of the document includes a glossary of terms describing the most important concepts of the ESC. - The second section, ESC-R API Documentation details the API Documentation, including how to obtain an API token and the different API versions. It also provides guidance on how card issuers and student service providers can interact with the ESC Router, which facilitates card issuance and verification processes. - The third section, CSV Import, describes how to manage student data by importing it into the ESC system using a CSV file. It includes information on the required fields and formatting for successful data uploads. - The fourth section, ESC Feature Specifications, explains the technical details of generating an ESCN (European Student Card Number), QR Codes, and the incorporation of the ESC logo.
