Evaluation of Effective Thermal Conductivity by 2d Image Simulation And The Effect of Orientation of Copper-Plated Carbon Fiber on Effective Thermal Conductivity of Fe-Based Composites

As a high-performance reinforcing material, carbon fiber (C f ) has a high anisotropy, so its distribution in the matrix has a significant impact on the Thermal conductivity (TC) of the Fe-based composite. In this study, TC in the radial direction of C f -Cu was corrected by the TC calculation formula of the coating. The TC of the composite with voids was corrected. Explored the influence of C f -Cu distribution on TC of composite, according to the distribution of C f -Cu in 2D image. In the process of SPS sintering and hot rolling, C f -Cu tends to distribute in the direction of heat flow, which effectively improve the TC of the composite. The finite volume method was used to simulate the TC of the composite. Due to the presence of pores, when the volume fraction of C f -Cu is 20%, both the measured and simulated TC reaches maximum, which are 68.89 W m -1 K -1 and 71.02 W m -1 K -1 respectively. On the α-plane, both the simulated and measured value have the same trend with the increase content of C f -Cu. On the γ-plane, the simulated value is far from the measured value
