Evaluation of Information and Awareness-Raising Strategy on European Integration in Poland
The report analyses and evaluates the informational, educational, and promotional 'Euro-initiatives' being launched in Poland. It describes activities which will raise the level of awareness in Polish society as regards European integration and build up support for Polands accession to the European Union. These activities were taken up by various institutions, such as governmental and non-governmental organisations, Church, trade unions, colleges and universities, and the media. They were financed by the government, EU institutions, Polish and foreign foundations as well as by various organisations themselves. The report tackles mainly the initiatives taken up in the year 2000. However, the research, analyses of the results, and drawn up recommendations refer to a longer period of the years 1998-2000, when the Polish Government formulated a national strategy of informing the Polish society about European integration, and when the number of 'Euro-initiatives' grew rapidly.
