Facilitating transfer of business : a smart guide on promoting and supporting the transfer of businesses with the help of EU structural funds

Structural Funds should play an important role in supporting concrete projects aiming to enhance the transfer of business. This document therefore intends to provide an indication of actions that could be usefully taken in all countries and in all regions with the support of European Structural Funds. The target audience of this report are the policy makers and the managing authorities at regional level. This guide presents: the need for and potential positive impacts of public intervention for facilitating Transfer of Business in the EU via Structural Funds; a look back on the Commission's and Member States' actions already taken; suggestions for measures to support Transfer of Business; a number of good practice examples to inspire measures that could be included in the Structural Fund operational programmes (OPs).
