Global Software Development Using the 24-Hour Knowledge Factory Paradigm

The 24- Hour Knowledge Factory is a paradigm in which globally distributed teams work on the same software development task in a sequential manner. It provides a service-oriented architecture model that facilitates round-the-clock operations through the deployment of multiple development teams around the globe. Complex projects are iteratively broken down into simpler modules, with a "composite persona" (CP) being responsible for each such module. In this paper, we delineate the key challenges that are encountered in the establishment of 24-hours knowledge factories. We present potential solutions to these problems and describe how some of these solutions have been validated with concept demonstration prototype systems
