Graph-theoretic aspects of polyominoes and related spatial structures
This paper presents a statistical survey of certain topological characteristics of n-omino populations for n < 9, and shows that these apply to a more general class of multicellular structures, introduced here as multiplices. The architectural relevance of this study is discussed in terms of the relationship between form and function; adaptability and flexibility; internal and external growth and change; complexity and robustness.
