Grid Interfaced Solar Pv-Bes Based Pico Hydro System Using So-Ccf Based Robust Control Strategy

A multi-objective control for grid interfaced PV- BES based pico hydro system having multi mode operation is dealt in this work. The pico hydro system comprises of a PMSG driven by a DC motor, which emulates the function of an uncontrolled hydro turbine. This system utilizes only one VSC which operates the system in GCM and in IM. This system also provides different functions like management of power among PV-BES hydro sources, AMPPT of PV array, over all voltage and frequency regulation and harmonics compensation.This system has capabilty to operate in multimode as it synchronizes with the grid when ever the grid connection is available and it disconnects from the grid and operates in an IM when the grid is not present. A SO-CCF based control strategy is used for VSC control in both modes of operation. The SO-CCF is used to estimate harmonic free FC of load current and also to extract phase angles of grid and hydro generator voltages. A two stage PV system is integrated to the presented configuration using a boost converter, which boosts the output voltage to match the DC-link.
