Handy- TV in Österreich
Der österreichische Mobilfunkmarkt für Sprachtelefonie scheint gesättigt, die Preise dafür sinken ständig. Was also können die Mobilfunkbetreiber und andere Akteure am Markt unternehmen, um weiterhin Gewinne zu verzeichnen und für potenzielle Kunden attraktiv zu bleiben? Eine Antwort darauf scheint das Fernsehen am Handy zu sein. Doch trotz vorhergesagtem Erfolg scheint sich dieser noch nicht eingestellt zu haben. Was also sind die Gründe, warum „Handy- TV“ in Österreich nicht schon längst den Markt erobert hat?
Diese Frage versucht die vorliegende Arbeit zu klären. An Hand einer empirischen Erhebung mittels Fragebogen wurden Nutzer und Nicht- Nutzer von Handy- TV zu diesem Thema befragt. Als theoretische Grundlagen dienen die Adoptions- und Akzeptanztheorie mit deren Hilfe Faktoren extrahiert werden, die für eine Innovation- wenn diese am Markt erfolgreich etabliert werden soll- von vorrangiger Wichtigkeit sind. Zudem wird auf Risikofaktoren eingegangen, die mögliche Kunden von einer Adoption abhalten. Mittels informationsökonomischem Ansatz wird auf Informationsasymmetrien zwischen Anbieter und Nutzer hingewiesen und wie sich diese verringern oder gar vermeiden lassen. Zentrale Fragen, die mit Hilfe der oben angeführten Theorie und den Ergebnissen der empirischen Untersuchung geklärt werden sollen, sind folgende: Was sind die Unterschiede zwischen bestehenden Nutzern von Handy- TV und Personen, die diesen Dienst nicht nutzen? Wie hilft das Wissen um diese Unterschiede den beteiligten Akteuren am Markt bei der Etablierung von Handy- TV.
Zusammenfassend lässt sich feststellen, dass sich grundlegenden Ansichten von Nutzern und Nicht- Nutzern kaum unterscheiden. Vor allem im Hinblick auf die Nutzungsorte, Inhalte oder Informationsaufnahme. Bei der Auswertung der Ergebnisse bezüglich der Eigenschaften von Handy- TV stellte sich jedoch heraus, dass Nutzer vorwiegend positiv über Handy- TV denken. Bei Nicht- Nutzern kristallisierte sich heraus, dass ihnen die finanziellen, funktionalen und zeitlichen Risiken der Handy- TV Nutzung zu hoch sind. Darauf aufbauend werden verschiedene Empfehlungen an die beteiligten Akteure, wie Mobilfunkanbieter, Endgerätehersteller und Inhalte- Anbieter, abgeleitet, um diese Risiken zu minimieren um so die Nicht- Nutzer von Handy-TV zu überzeugen.
