Identifying Optimum Inventory by Using Genetic Algorithm with Special Reference to Automobile Sector

Inventory management is considered to be an important field in supply chain management. Inventory is one of the factors responsible for minimizing the supply chain cost. Through efficient and effective management of inventory, services provided to the customers get enhanced. In this paper, an attempt has been made to optimize the inventory level of an organization by using genetic algorithm in MATLAB7.6 based on the data obtained from a leading automobile dealer.
