Import Penetration in Manufacturing, Globalization and the Share of Labor Cost in Value Added : A Panel Data Analysis for Greece (1988–1999)

In the present paper author through an empirical analysis will point out that import penetration in Greek manufacturing during the period 1988-1999 depends on globalization and the share of labor cost in value added of production. A discussion is made. The sample covers all 'two-digit' manufacturing sectors of the Greek economy. Data are taken from ElStat. The elaboration of these panel data is made feasible by means of the Eviews software package
