Intra-Industry Trade in Services : Testing the Linder Hypothesis
This paper uses an augmented gravity model to investigate the relevance of the Linder hypothesis in bilateral intra-industry trade in services. Results reveal a qualitatively similar but stronger impact of differences in income and income inequality on intra industry trade compared to total trade. The findings highlight cross-sectoral differences which can be used to address sector specific policy considerations
