Introduction: a roadmap for the well-being transition

The purpose of this volume is to bring together key actors of the well-being community - pairing scholars with policy-makers - to advance the analytical and policy-making agenda at the heart of the well-being transition, at a time when this progress has become a vital necessity. At least two urgent tasks indeed stand before us in order to make progress in the "well-being transition": first, connecting well-being to sustainability in a consistent framework highlighting their complementarity; second, operationalizing well-being indicators, that is, integrating them into policy at all levels of governance so that new insights lead to better outcomes.
