La décision d'innovation: cas des entreprises Tunisiennes de services

Innovation is widely recognised as a key driver of economic growth and competitiveness. Previous works on innovation analysis focus especially on the determinants and the effects of innovation while distinguishing between four kinds: product innovation, process innovation, radical innovation and incremental innovation. However, few research efforts are done, how firms make the decision to innovate. Based on a sample of 108 Tunisian service firms, the purpose of this paper is to depict the way by which firms make the decision to innovate: simultaneously (one-stage model) or sequentially (two-stage model). We found that the two-stage model has a statistically-significant advantage in predicting innovation. In practice, the sequential model illustrates well innovation making-decision procedures.
