Lightgbm's Effectiveness in Rainfall Prediction

The precision of rainfall forecast remains a crucial subject of study for the meteorological service. Accurate rainfall forecasting may aid in predicting heavy rains and catastrophe prevention. For the public and the government to be adequately prepared for any catastrophe, an effective prediction system must recognize drought and floods before they occur. Predicting rainfall is one of the critical methods for predicting the weather in any nation. Due to recent climate change and fluctuation, estimating rainfall accurately is now exceedingly tricky. Previous research has demonstrated that predicting climatic conditions using A.I. systems may provide excellent results. Forecasts of meteorological time series may aid decision-making processes by organizations in charge of disaster prevention and other necessary decisions on water scarcity crises. Therefore, this research sought to propose a model with the highest prediction accuracy and the shortest execution time. Fortunately, with the help of the algorithm proposed by the Light Gradient Boosting Machine, the meteorological data for ten years of Australia was analyzed, and the rain was predicted for today and tomorrow
