M-Learning in Distance Learning : An Experience in State Welfare Subject

The introduction of new Information and Communication Technologies (ITC) in teaching at the University level has culminated in unstoppable innovation teaching process and generates new learning ways. One of the latest learning phenomena has been “m-learning”. An open, cheap, and global way of transmitting knowledge, this new teaching system has in MOOC (Massive On-line Open Courses) the best academic example. The dynamism of these courses and the high level of student's interaction is also having an impact on distance learning Universities. As a result of the new possibilities of MOOC, the Spanish National University of Distance Learning (UNED) has developed the COMA program. COMA is the way to integrate MOOC courses into the most important Spanish speaking Open University in the world. The aim of this paper is to show a comparison between tools used, interaction and students' profiles when they have signed on for The State Welfare subject using formal or official teaching and in the case of a Massive On-line Open course
