Modalities for reaching the 2020 target to reduce CO2 emissions from new passenger cars

This report summarises the presentations and discussions at the Workshop on the modalities for reaching the 2020 target to reduce CO2 emissions from new passenger cars, held on 26 November 2012. The aim of the workshop was to allow an exchange of views between the European Commission, MEPs and stakeholders of the motor vehicle industry, transport and environment NGOs, and academia. Topics for discussion included the impacts of the Commission legislative proposal for a Regulation on amending Regulation (EC) No 443/2009 to define the modalities for reaching the 2020 target to reduce CO2 emissions from new passenger cars (COM (2012) 393). The workshop was chaired by MEP Mr Thomas Ulmer (EPP, DE), ENVI Rapporteur for the Commission Proposal on "The modalities for reaching the 2020 target to reduce CO2 emissions from new passenger cars".
