Modelling and performance of a tubular multiwick solar still
A new design of a tubular multiwick solar still is proposed and investigated. A theoretical analysis of this still, along with the energy balance equations for simple multiwick and tubular solar stills, is presented. The proposed designs are compared. The results obtained show that the tubular multiwick solar still can yield more than 31/m2 day of distillate output, even under typical cold climatic conditions, which is about 13% more than that of the conventional multiwick solar still and 8% more than that of a simple tubular solar still.
