MULTIMAC I: The Multi-Sectoral WIFO Input-Output Model
WIFO has recently developed important steps towards a new multi-sectoral macroeconomic model which is based on previous research during the 1980's. New essential features comprise the inclusion of a recent provisional input-output table 1988, the elaboration of a price model and the consistent link-up to the WIFO macro model. A first step included the mutual adjustment of the accounting methods of national income accounting (NIA) and input-output analysis. The new model offers a wide variety of applications for economic analysis. A recent example is the WIFO simulation of sectoral effects of EC membership for Austria.
