Multiple Identifications in Boundary Spanning Virtual Teams

One of the challenges in remote and boundary spanning work contexts is maintaining identification with their employer when employees work remotely and interact mostly with external employees. The purpose of this study is to understand the interplay of multiple identities (employer, team, and client) and their impact on employee's job satisfaction, employer commitment, and turnover intention. In addition, the study investigates the moderating role of boundary spanning virtual team identification on these relationships. The findings challenge the notion that that the target of the identification should predict the outcome variable related to the same target
